Lake Komo on Kosmos is situated in the small, tranquil village of Kosmos. The village is nestled on the banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam in the Magalies Biosphere. The cottage garden is English in origin and offers a distinct mixture of informal design, traditional materials, dense plantings, and ornamental and edible plants.
1. Our area is currently experiencing load shedding for both electricity and water. We ask that you consume both electricity and water sparingly. I will do my best to update you in advance on the times, but sometimes we are caught off guard and so I respectfully request your understanding and patience in these challenging times.
2. Lake Komo is all about breaking away to a quiet and tranquil surrounding, enjoying the many nearby places of interest, restaurants, live music venues, meandering at the flea markets in Chameleon Village, or spending quality time with your loved ones. Lake Komo on Kosmos is not a party venue.
More about Lake Komo on Kosmos:
If you’re looking for a peaceful weekend away from the bustling city life, look no more. Noise levels are kept to a minimum. If you’re an early-morning person, you’ll enjoy sipping your first coffee / tea (with compliments from us) on the cocktail deck over-looking the Hartbeespoort dam and taking in the sounds of hundreds of birds while watching the sun rises.
The fully equipped kitchen features a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, convection-microwave, kettle and a walk-in pantry.
The self-catering house can accommodate 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The bedrooms are both furnished with a queen-size bed. The main bedroom has an en-suite shower and toilet. The second bedroom has a separate, adjacent toilet and bathroom. However, if the door to the passage is closed this separate bathroom forms a unit with the second bedroom, creating an en-suite effect.
The lounge and second bedroom both open onto a wooden deck with views of the dam.
Lake Komo is the preferred choice for nature lovers, and people seeking a city-break. So, watching television is not high on the priority list, but for those that can’t do without we’ve provided the very basics, i.e. SABC 1, 2, and 3.
Braai (BBQ) facilities and under-cover parking are provided.
We have almost 50% of the total bird life of South Africa, in our village! Enjoy the bird life from the cocktail deck overlooking the dam.
Attractions include Magalies Park Golf Club, Silkaatsnek Nature Reserve, Harties Market, Owl Rescue Centre and Hartebeespoort Dam Snake and Animal Park. Once you’ve confirmed your booking I will link you up with our social chat platform from where you have a whole list of events and activities to select from. You’ll certainly be kept busy.
